The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring Ambrozi Contracting consistently provides high-quality ready-mix concrete that meets project specifications, company standards, and customer expectations. This position serves as a key bridge between customers, field operations, drivers, and the ready-mix plant, ensuring effective communication, consistent product quality, and exceptional customer service. The position requires flexibility, including travel and assisting in other operational roles when needed. Responsibilities Monitor the quality and consistency of ready-mix concrete production and delivery. Verify concrete meets applicable project specifications and mix-design requirements. Perform and/or coordinate appropriate field quality-control testing and documentation. Monitor slump, temperature, air content, unit weight, and other applicable quality measures. Communicate special mix requirements and field conditions to plant personnel. Identify, document, and communicate potential quality concerns. Assist in investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions. Maintain accurate quality-control records. Work with plant personnel to continually improve product consistency and quality. Safety Follow all Ambrozi safety policies and applicable OSHA, DOT, plant, jobsite, and customer requirements. Wear required PPE and maintained awareness around trucks, heavy equipment, and active construction operations. Immediately report accidents, injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, spills, or other safety concerns. Never compromise safety for production, delivery schedules, or customer demands. Plant, Field & Customer Communication Serve as a primary communication link between the plant, field, drivers, and customers. Communicate jobsite conditions, placement rates, delays, weather, accessibility, and other factors affecting production or delivery. Maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, project managers, superintendents, inspectors, and testing agencies. Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions or concerns. Assist in resolving product, quality, and delivery concerns. Qualifications Ready-mix concrete, concrete construction, or quality-control experience preferred. Knowledge of ready-mix operations, concrete quality, and field-testing practices. CDL preferred when driving responsibilities are required. Strong communication, customer-service, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with customers, drivers, plant personnel, field employees, and management. Ability to work flexible hours and travel as operational needs require. Physical & Work Requirements This position requires work in ready-mix plant and active construction environments, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, heavy equipment, concrete trucks, and active jobsites. The employee must be able to perform applicable field duties and wear required PPE. Schedules may vary based on concrete pours, weather, customer requirements, and operational needs. Early mornings, extended hours, evenings, weekends, and travel may be required. Performance Expectations The Quality Control Inspector is expected to: Maintain high standards for ready-mix concrete quality. Identify and address quality concerns promptly. Maintain effective communication between the plant, field, and customers. Provide professional and responsive customer service. Help reduce preventable quality issues and rejected loads. Support safe and efficient plant and delivery operations. Positively represent Ambrozi Contracting at all times.
