The successful candidate will be responsible for performing concrete cutting, sawing, and removal operations while learning the safe operation of a variety of concrete cutting equipment. Previous concrete sawing experience is not required; however, candidates with construction, concrete, utility, demolition, or laborer experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Concrete Cutting:
Operate various types of concrete saws (e.g., wall saws, flat saws, wire saws) to cut through concrete surfaces such as walls, floors, and pavements.
Preparation and Setup:
Set up and prepare cutting equipment and work areas. Ensure tools are well-maintained and calibrated.
Measurement and Layout:
Accurately measure and mark cutting lines and areas based on project blueprints and specifications.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any unsafe conditions or practices.
Quality Control:
Inspect cut areas for accuracy and ensure that work meets quality standards and specifications.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on saw equipment. Report major equipment issues to the supervisor.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and within budget.
Cleanup:
Ensure the work area is clean and free of debris at the end of each shift. Properly dispose of or recycle materials as required.
Qualifications:
Previous construction, concrete, utility, bridge, demolition, or general labor experience preferred but not required. Willingness to learn specialized equipment and construction techniques. Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to safety and quality. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Valid driver's license preferred. The position requires working outdoors and in varying weather conditions. May involve exposure to dust, noise, and vibrations from equipment. Use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye protection, and gloves, is mandatory. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
