Responsibilities Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, and edgers. Interpret blueprints and construction plans to accurately follow specifications for concrete finishing and formwork construction. Install rebar reinforcement and perform rebar installation tasks to ensure structural integrity before pouring concrete. Operate concrete mixers, pumps, and cutting tools to facilitate efficient pouring and finishing processes. Prepare forms and formwork for concrete placement, ensuring proper alignment and stability according to technical drawings. Apply finishing techniques including brooming, stamping, sealing, and caulking to achieve desired textures and appearances. Maintain safety protocols by adhering to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting procedures. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment and tools used in concrete finishing. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans with precision. Experience with concrete pouring, cutting, formwork construction, and finishing techniques such as plastering or stucco application. Knowledge of rebar installation, metal stud framing, masonry work, flooring installation, and restoration projects. Skilled in interpreting blueprint specifications for accurate execution of concrete work on various construction sites. Familiarity with construction estimating processes for material needs and project timelines.
