Edge Development is a start-up Buffalo-based development and construction firm focused on innovative mixed-use developments, commercial buildings, multifamily communities, and custom residential projects across Western New York. Edge designs, develops, builds, and manages its own projects and serves as a commercial general contractor and residential construction expert for Buffalo-area homeowners, investors, and developers. Edge is an early-stage start-up organization with a small growing team, the experience to execute at a high level, and the runway to scale operations at a rapid pace. THE ROLE

Edge is building concrete capability inside a development company with a multi-year pipeline of multifamily and residential construction. We need someone with real proficiency in concrete flatwork, foundation construction, or both. This is contracted new-construction work on projects we control: footings, walls, slabs, garage floors, patios, walks, and site concrete, with steady volume and a predictable pour schedule. We are hiring for the person who can take ownership of concrete work from layout through finish. If you have run pours, managed a small crew, and stand behind the quality of what you put in the ground, this role is designed for you. If you are a strong finisher who wants to build toward that, we will train the rest.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead concrete work on active projects; layout, forming, reinforcing, placing, and finishing Foundation construction: footings, frost walls, and foundation walls, including ICF systems (experience valued; training provided)

Flatwork:

slabs on grade, garage floors, patios, walks, and site concrete Plan and execute pours: coordinate ready-mix orders, pump and equipment needs, crew and weather Operate and maintain concrete equipment, including power trowels, screeds, and vibrators; laser screed experience valued Work with the construction manager on scheduling and sequencing across concurrent projects Work with the construction manager on scheduling and sequencing across concurrent projects Train and lead crew members as the operation grows Maintain safety standards on every pour

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in concrete flatwork, foundation construction, or both Able to read plans, layout from drawings, and verify grades and elevations Understands mix design, admixtures, curing, and cold-weather concrete practice for the WNY climate Experience running a crew or leading pours preferred; strong finishers ready to step up will be considered Dependability Comfortable operating equipment; equipment operating experience a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
