Office / Project-Based with Site Coordination Position Overview We are a New York City concrete construction contractor seeking an experienced Concrete Construction Detailer / Dimensional Drawing Detailer to join our team. This position is specifically focused on preparing accurate concrete dimensional drawings and coordination drawings used for field construction. The ideal candidate understands how structural drawings, architectural drawings, and field conditions come together to produce clear, buildable concrete drawings. We are looking for someone with practical knowledge of cast-in-place concrete construction , not simply general CAD drafting experience. Responsibilities The Concrete Detailer will be responsible for: Preparing detailed concrete dimensional drawings for field construction. Developing slab, wall, column, beam, foundation, opening, edge-of-slab, and elevation layouts. Reviewing and coordinating structural and architectural drawings . Identifying dimensional conflicts, missing information, and discrepancies between drawing sets. Coordinating slab openings, blockouts, embeds, sleeves, depressions, steps, curbs, and other concrete-related conditions. Preparing drawings that clearly establish dimensions, elevations, offsets, locations, and concrete geometry . Incorporating RFIs, sketches, bulletins, addenda, and design revisions into current drawings. Maintaining accurate drawing revisions and ensuring field personnel are working from the latest information. Coordinating with project managers, superintendents, engineers, architects, surveyors, rebar detailers, and other trades. Reviewing drawings from a constructability and field installation perspective . Assisting project teams in resolving dimensional and layout issues before they impact concrete placement. Qualifications Concrete construction experience is strongly preferred.

Candidates should have:

Experience preparing concrete dimensional, layout, or coordination drawings . Strong understanding of cast-in-place concrete construction. Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural construction documents. Knowledge of foundations, slabs, walls, columns, beams, stairs, openings, embeds, and other structural concrete elements. Strong AutoCAD skills. Experience with Bluebeam Revu. Revit experience is a plus. Ability to compare multiple drawing sets and identify dimensional discrepancies. Understanding of elevations, benchmarks, control lines, grid lines, offsets, and field layout. Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced NYC construction environment and meet project deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with both office and field personnel. Preferred Experience Experience working for a concrete subcontractor, concrete contractor, formwork contractor, structural engineering/detailing company, or similar construction organization is highly preferred. Experience with NYC high-rise, mid-rise, commercial, residential, or large-scale cast-in-place concrete construction is a major plus. The successful candidate should be able to take architectural and structural information and turn it into clear, coordinated drawings that a concrete field team can actually build from. Accuracy, constructability, communication, and the ability to identify problems before concrete is placed are critical to this position. Compensation Competitive salary based on experience.
