Position Overview The Project Manager supervises aspects of mix batch plant including sales and customer satisfaction, quality control, staffing, batching ready mix, supervising drivers, and managing production and load out of materials. The Project Manager is responsible for employee morale and discipline as well as driver/customer relations and ultimately holds responsibility for meeting all deadlines and the overall financial performance for their assigned project. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Enforce company safety rules and conduct safety meetings, including tool box talks; ensure facilities are operating in a safe manner. Enforce company policies, procedures and work rules: discipline when necessary and document all employee performance issues. Oversee large-scale project managing all aspects to successful completion- ensuring deadlines are met, staffing is appropriate and scheduled efficiently and within budget Supports plant manager in batching operations in an efficient and safe manner while complying with all local, state and federal regulations, including but not limited to: OSHA, MSHA, DEP, etc.
Other Requirements:
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures. Strict adherence to Shelly Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Shelly Company employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Willingness to develop subordinates' technical and leadership skills and make recommendations for new job opportunities when appropriate. Effective management of employee performance through coaching, feedback (written and verbal), rewards, and discipline when necessary. Addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner. Ability to get work done through others using effective delegation, scheduling, and time management practices. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ACI Level 1 Field Certification.Knowledge/ Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
