Concrete Laborer Hours & Pay Rate:

1st Shift (start times between 5am-7am) - $21/hr - Must be open to 2nd or 3rd shift. Pay goes up to $21.75 Job Description This role involves performing physically demanding general labor and concrete work in a heavy manufacturing environment that produces large precast construction components. You use hand and power tools, assist with concrete pouring and stripping, and support crews in both indoor plant and outdoor yard settings. The work is straightforward but highly physical, with varying shift start times and regular overtime. Responsibilities Perform general clean-up of work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment. Sweep, clean, and remove debris from the yard and plant as needed. Place concrete and assist in pouring, stripping, and handling cement for precast construction components. Place strand and rebar and help with concrete forms as directed. Lift materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to support production activities. Label, monitor, and care for equipment and tools to ensure proper use and availability. Support other crews and team members as required to meet production goals. Perform bending, lifting, twisting, and walking for up to 12 hours per day. Carry out additional functions as needed to manufacture large precast construction components. Follow all safety guidelines, including proper attire and the removal of jewelry. Work assigned shifts on either the general labor crew or pour crew and be available for overtime, including some Fridays or Saturdays depending on the regular schedule. Essential Skills 0-2 years of manufacturing experience in a production or heavy manufacturing environment. 0-2 years of production experience in a similar industrial or construction setting. General labor or construction experience, including familiarity with physical work and job site tasks. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and confidently. Comfort with physical cement pouring and stripping work. Ability to perform repetitive bending, lifting, twisting, and walking for long periods, up to 12-hour shifts. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Reliability and willingness to work overtime, typically 45-60 hours per week. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and in both indoor and outdoor environments. No GED or diploma required; able to learn and follow simple, clear work processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with concrete work, including concrete forms and precast components. Experience in construction, carpentry, or landscaping. Familiarity with rebar placement and concrete form assembly. Comfort working with a variety of tools in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Openness to working different shifts, including general labor shifts (5 days per week, 8-hour days) and pour crew shifts (4 days per week, 10-hour days). Flexibility to work 5-6 days per week with variable start times. Willingness to provide and receive feedback in a straightforward, team-oriented culture. Work Environment The work takes place in a tough physical manufacturing environment, either outside in the yard or inside the plant. Yard work is outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year, including cold winters and hot, muggy summers, and requires comfort working in these conditions. Plant work is indoors but still physically demanding, with exposure to dust, noise, and heavy materials. Shift start times vary and may change week to week. There are three primary shift options: general labor shifts that run 5 days per week with 8-hour days, and pour crew shifts that run 4 days per week with 10-hour days, typically Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday. Regular overtime is required, with total hours often ranging from 45 to 60 per week, and you must be open to working 5-6 days per week, including some Fridays or Saturdays depending on your regular schedule. Dress code requires jeans and long sleeves during the winter due to cold conditions, and t-shirts with jeans in the summer; clothing will get dirty and covered in cement. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory, though steel toes are not required. Sweatpants and tank tops are not allowed, and no jewelry may be worn for safety reasons. Overall, the environment is physically demanding but straightforward, with simple processes and clear expectations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cressona, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.75/hr.
