Job Description

About Us Floor Shield of East Tennessee installs high-performance polyaspartic concrete coating systems for residential and commercial customers — garages, basements, patios, warehouses, and commercial floors. We do the prep right, we install it right, and our floors hold up. We're looking for an experienced tech who takes the same pride in the work. The Role You'll do full installation process from bare concrete to finished floor: mechanical surface prep, repairs, and multi-coat polyaspartic application. This is hands-on field work on weekend job sites, most of which start and finish in a day or two. This is a great fit if you're looking for weekend side work. If you already install coatings, flooring, or do concrete work during the week and want to put your Saturdays and Sundays to use, we want to hear from you. No weekday commitment — you work the weekend jobs and that's it. What You'll Do
  • Mechanically prepare concrete using walk-behind and hand grinders with diamond tooling to achieve the specified CSP profile
  • Run dust extraction/HEPA vacuum systems and keep job sites clean and contained
  • Diagnose slab conditions — moisture, existing coatings, contamination, laitance, soft concrete — and prep accordingly
  • Repair cracks, spalls, pitting, and joints with the appropriate patching and filler materials
  • Mix and apply polyaspartic base and top coats within pot-life windows, maintaining a wet edge and consistent mil thickness
  • Broadcast decorative vinyl flake or quartz to the specified coverage rate; scrape and prep for topcoat
  • Detail cove base, saw cuts, transitions, and edges cleanly
  • Mask and protect walls, fixtures, and adjacent surfaces
  • Maintain grinders, vacuums, and tooling; track diamond wear and consumables
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and property managers on site
  • Document job progress with photos and complete daily job paperwork What You Need
  • 2+ years of hands-on concrete coating installation experience
  • Proven experience with diamond grinding and mechanical surface prep on concrete
  • Direct experience installing polyaspartic and/or polyurea coating systems (not just epoxy)
  • Solid understanding of mix ratios, pot life, ambient and slab temperature limits, humidity, and recoat windows
  • Ability to read and follow manufacturer technical data sheets
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs repeatedly, kneel, bend, and stand on concrete for a full shift
  • Comfortable working in hot, humid, and occasionally dusty or confined conditions
  • Available to work Saturdays and Sundays
  • Reliable and on time — when a job is scheduled, we need you there Details
  • Part-time, weekends only — no weekday hours required
  • Pay based on experience
  • Good steady side income alongside a weekday job
  • Truck, trailer, tools, and equipment provided
  • Work is based out of Greeneville, TN, with travel to job sites in the surrounding area How to Apply Send a resume or a short work history to [EMAIL] or call [PHONE].
Photos of finished floors you've installed are welcome and will move you to the top of the pile. Floor Shield of East Tennessee is an equal opportunity employer.
