Concrete & Asphalt Laborer Overview Southern Contracting Services is seeking a dependable and hardworking concrete & asphalt laborer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction and knowledge of asphalt and concrete work. This position involves working outdoors on commercial and industrial paving projects and assisting with a variety of labor-intensive tasks. Responsibilities Assist with asphalt paving, patching, sealcoating, crack filling, and concrete placement projects. Operate equipment such as skid steers, rollers, pavers, and other construction machinery as needed. Assist with pouring, grading, leveling, and finishing concrete surfaces. Prepare job sites by loading and unloading materials, clearing debris, and maintaining a safe work environment. Build and remove concrete forms and assist with site layout and preparation. Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations. Work effectively with crew members and supervisors to complete projects safely and efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in asphalt paving, concrete construction, or general construction labor preferred. Experience operating skid steers, rollers, pavers, dump trucks, or other heavy equipment is a plus. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be willing and able to travel and stay overnight. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of construction site safety practices and procedures.
