Job Description

Overview We are a mid-size precast concrete manufacturer specializing in high-volume, smaller precast products including stair treads, car stops, and air conditioning pads. Our team of 35 employees operates a fast-paced production environment built on quality, consistency, and on-time delivery. We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our operations and drive continuous improvement.. Responsibilities Production & Operations Oversee all aspects of daily precast concrete production including batching, casting, curing, and finishing of treads, car stops, AC pads, and related products. Schedule production runs to meet customer delivery commitments while maximizing equipment and labor efficiency. Monitor batch plant operations, mix designs, and material usage to control costs and maintain product quality. Coordinate with dispatch and sales on order priorities, lead times, and capacity. Quality Control Enforce mix design standards and perform or oversee concrete testing (slump, air content, cylinder breaks). Investigate and resolve product defects, customer complaints, and non-conformances. Maintain records in compliance with NPCA quality system requirements or applicable plant certifications. Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production processes. Team Leadership Directly supervise production crew leads, equipment operators, and yard personnel. Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate plant employees. Foster a positive, accountable team culture with low turnover and high engagement. Address performance issues promptly and fairly in accordance with company policy. Safety & Compliance Serve as the primary on-site safety leader; conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and all federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain accurate safety records including training logs, near-miss reports, and
OSHA 300
log. Manage PPE programs and enforce safe equipment operation practices. Equipment & Maintenance Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for batch plant, mixers, forms, cranes, forklifts, and other production equipment. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and capital improvements. Track equipment utilization and flag aging assets requiring replacement. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in precast concrete, ready-mix, or concrete products manufacturing. At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within a plant environment. Working knowledge of concrete mix design, batch plant operations, and QC testing. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and demonstrated commitment to workplace safety. Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage priorities in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency with basic computer tools (email, Excel, production scheduling software). Pay:
$120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
