Stone Touch, a subsidiary of Fisher Painting, is seeking an experienced Concrete Coatings & Polishing Technician to join our team. This position is for someone with hands-on experience installing epoxy and other concrete floor coating systems as well as grinding and polishing concrete floors . The ideal candidate understands that proper surface preparation is critical to producing a high-quality, long-lasting finished floor. Projects may include commercial, industrial, and residential concrete flooring. Work will vary from epoxy and decorative coating systems to mechanically ground and polished concrete. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, pays attention to detail, works efficiently, and can consistently produce professional-quality finished floors. Experience Qualified candidates should have professional experience with: Epoxy floor coating systems Concrete grinding and surface preparation Polished concrete systems Operating planetary grinders and polishing equipment Hand grinding edges, corners, and detailed areas Crack, joint, spall, and surface repairs Applying primers, epoxy coatings, build coats, and topcoats Decorative flake and broadcast flooring systems Understanding concrete surface profiles and proper preparation methods Diamond tooling and selecting appropriate tooling for grinding and polishing Progressive polishing using multiple diamond grits Applying concrete densifiers and guards/sealers Proper mixing and application of two-component coating products Identifying and addressing concrete conditions that could affect the finished flooring system Previous professional experience with both concrete coatings and polished concrete is strongly preferred . Responsibilities Prepare concrete floors for coating and polishing systems Operate grinders, vacuums, polishers, and other concrete flooring equipment safely and efficiently Grind concrete to the appropriate surface profile for the specified coating system Perform concrete repairs including cracks, joints, spalls, holes, and damaged areas Mix and apply epoxy, primers, coatings, and topcoats according to manufacturer specifications Install decorative flake and other broadcast flooring systems Grind and polish concrete floors to the specified finish and level of sheen Use diamond tooling through the proper progression to achieve consistent results Apply densifiers, guards, sealers, and other concrete treatments as required Hand grind and detail edges, corners, and areas inaccessible to larger equipment Protect walls, doors, equipment, and surrounding finished surfaces before beginning work Inspect floors throughout the installation process and correct issues before proceeding to the next step Maintain clean and organized jobsites Properly clean, maintain, and care for company tools and equipment Communicate with supervisors regarding job progress, material needs, floor conditions, and potential problems Follow company procedures, manufacturer specifications, and jobsite safety requirements Work independently when necessary and as part of a crew on larger projects Maintain a professional appearance and attitude when working with customers, contractors, and other trades We are looking for someone who understands that a great finished floor starts with proper preparation and attention to detail .
