Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Concrete Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for concrete projects, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, suppliers, and project managers to ensure successful project execution. Your expertise will help drive profitable bids, manage project budgets effectively, and contribute to the seamless delivery of commercial concrete construction projects. Duties Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine material requirements and project scope. Prepare detailed cost estimates for concrete projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services using estimating software. Analyze bid documents and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and construction phases, ensuring cost control and profitability. Collaborate with project managers, clients, and design teams to interpret technical drawings and provide accurate pricing for materials and labor. Utilize construction management software like Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite to develop spreadsheets, proposals, and reports that support decision-making. Review contracts, change orders, and construction drawings regularly to ensure alignment with project goals and cost estimates. Requirements Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial concrete estimating within the construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software. Excellent blueprint reading skills along with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Demonstrated expertise in managing projects as a construction estimator with a focus on cost management and material estimating. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel spreadsheets for detailed cost analysis. Knowledge of construction industry standards, contracts, pricing strategies, and material cost estimating techniques. Effective negotiation skills combined with excellent client communication abilities. Construction site experience is preferred to better understand on-the-ground realities influencing estimates.
