SD Ireland Concrete Construction Corp. is seeking a dependable and motivated Ready Mix Quality Control Field Technician to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and performance of our ready-mix concrete products in both plant and field environments. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented and comfortable working outdoors in fast-paced construction settings throughout northern and central Vermont. Key Responsibilities Perform field testing of ready-mix concrete including: Slump, Air content, Temperature, Unit weight, Compression test cylinders Monitor concrete quality at jobsites and production facilities Ensure compliance with mix designs, ASTM standards and customer specifications Document and maintain accurate testing records and reports Communicate effectively with dispatchers, drivers, contractors and plant personnel Assist with troubleshooting concrete performance and workability issues Maintain and calibrate testing equipment Support plant quality control and aggregate testing procedures Follow and promote all company safety policies and procedures Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience in ready mix concrete, construction materials testing, or construction preferred ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification preferred (or ability to obtain) Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobsites Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Schedule Stable year-round position Early mornings, overtime, and occasional Saturdays required during construction season Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health insurance with a matched health savings account Dental and Vision Coverage 401(k) with a generous 20% match Short and long-term disability Life insurance, and optional accident and critical illness insurance Paid time off and holidays Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement (if applicable) Training and certification opportunities Stable, team-oriented work environment Build your future with a company committed to quality, safety, and professionalism.
