Civil Concrete Estimator

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Concrete Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid packages for heavy civil and commercial concrete projects. This role requires a strong understanding of the construction industry, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with estimating tools and software. The Civil Concrete Estimator will play a critical role in project planning, bid preparation, and vendor negotiations to support successful project execution. Duties Prepare comprehensive labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates for civil concrete projects. Conduct quantity takeoffs by measuring materials such as concrete, formwork, rebar, and sitework directly from project plans and blueprints. Review proposal requirements thoroughly, assemble detailed bid packages, and assist with contract negotiations to secure project awards. Request quotes from vendors and subcontractors, evaluate their proposals, and assist with contract negotiations. Utilize estimating software to develop accurate estimates and manage bid data efficiently. Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents to determine scope of work accurately. Use spreadsheets and construction management software to organize data, track costs, and streamline estimation processes. Coordinate with project management teams and field operations to ensure smooth handoff of awarded bids for project execution. Skills 3-5+ years of estimating experience in civil or commercial concrete construction. Proficiency with estimating software specific to the construction industry. Excellent client communication skills for coordinating with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Strong blueprint reading and math skills. Skilled in material cost estimating with attention to detail. Familiarity with spreadsheets and construction management software tools. Knowledge of concrete construction, DOT standards and self-performed concrete work. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously. Pay:
$85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
