As we continue expanding our mechanical division throughout California, we are seeking experienced leaders who take pride in safety, quality, and team development. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Foreman to lead field operations on commercial mechanical projects throughout California. The Mechanical Foreman will oversee crews in the installation of HVAC piping, equipment, ductwork, and mechanical systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems, experience managing crews and multiple phases of construction, and the ability to coordinate effectively with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, and clients. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead mechanical field crews on commercial construction projects Coordinate daily activities to ensure productivity, quality, and schedule adherence Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical drawings Oversee installation of HVAC systems, hydronic piping, chilled water systems, ductwork, equipment setting, and related mechanical systems Plan manpower, materials, tools, and equipment needed for project execution Ensure all work is completed in compliance with California building codes, company standards, and project specifications Maintain a safe work environment and enforce OSHA and company safety policies Conduct daily crew meetings, safety talks, and progress tracking Coordinate inspections and work closely with general contractors, inspectors, and other trades Train, mentor, and develop apprentices and field employees Assist with material ordering, scheduling, and project documentation Utilize construction management software such as Procore and other field technology platforms Qualifications 5+ years of experience in commercial mechanical construction Previous Foreman or crew leadership experience required Strong knowledge of HVAC/mechanical systems and commercial construction practices Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical plans Experience managing crews, schedules, and multiple project phases Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and California construction regulations Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet project deadlines Procore experience preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Preferred Experience Experience with large commercial projects such as hospitals, schools, multifamily, hotels, industrial facilities, or TI projects Experience with hydronic piping, chilled water systems, VRF systems, and HVAC equipment installations OSHA 30 Certification CPR/First Aid Certification What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and paid holidays Career growth and advancement opportunities Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (depending on role/project) Strong team-oriented culture with long-term project opportunities throughout California Join Our Team Iron Horse Companies is looking for motivated leaders who want to grow with a rapidly expanding mechanical division.
