This is a hands-on leadership role. you'll be running job sites, leading a small crew, and working right alongside them to get the job done. If you're the kind of person who leads by example, takes ownership of a project from start to finish, and isn't afraid to get your hands dirty, this role was built for you. About the Role As a Lead Installer, you'll take point on dock construction and equipment installation projects, managing the day-to-day flow of the job while staying actively involved in the work itself. You'll lead a crew of 2-4 installers, coordinate with customers and project stakeholders, and make sure every installation meets Impact.'s standards for quality and safety. This isn't a supervisory role from the sidelines. You're in the field, on the tools, and accountable for the outcome. Key Responsibilities Lead a crew of 2-4 installers on dock construction and equipment installation projects, setting the pace and standard for the work. Stay hands-on throughout each project. This role requires active participation in installation work, not just oversight. Manage daily job site operations including crew assignments, sequencing of work, and coordination with customers. Install and oversee installation of dock equipment including levelers, vehicle restraints, dock shelters, control boxes, and sectional doors. Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and installation documentation to guide accurate, compliant work. Troubleshoot installation issues in the field and make sound decisions to keep projects on track. Hold the crew to high standards of workmanship, safety, and professionalism on every job. Mentor and develop less experienced team members through direct, on-the-job guidance. Communicate clearly with customers on-site, representing Impact. with professionalism. Travel to job sites throughout the region as required. Requirements Proven experience in dock equipment installation, construction, or a closely related trade . Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a small field crew; you've been the person others look to on a job site. Strong work ethic. You lead from the front and expect the same from your crew. Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical installation documentation. Solid mechanical aptitude with experience across the tools and tasks common to commercial construction and equipment installation. Comfortable with basic electrical tasks including control box wiring and low-voltage connections. Reliable transportation to access job sites across the region. Strong communication skills with your crew, with customers, and with Impact management. Must be able to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varied physical conditions. Skills Needed Hands-on dock equipment installation experience (strongly preferred). Crew leadership or field supervision experience. Mechanical installation across a range of commercial construction tasks. Basic electrical knowledge (wiring, low-voltage connections). Welding experience is a plus.
Equipment operation:
scissor lifts, skid steers. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and job site safety practices. Work Schedule Full-time shifts available between 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime. Why Work With Us?
