is hiring an experienced Service Electrician who can independently troubleshoot electrical problems, complete repairs, prepare accurate estimates, and communicate professionally with residential and commercial customers. This is not an entry-level position. We need a dependable technician who can manage a service call from the initial diagnosis through the repair, estimate, documentation, and payment process. Responsibilities Independently diagnose electrical problems, including power loss, tripping breakers, damaged wiring, faulty outlets, switches, lighting, GFCI/AFCI protection, panels, subpanels, dedicated circuits, and electrical equipment. Clearly explain findings and recommended solutions to customers. Complete approved repairs safely and efficiently whenever possible during the initial visit. Prepare clear and accurate estimates for electrical repairs, panel upgrades, rewiring, EV chargers, dedicated circuits, lighting, and other residential or commercial projects. Provide customers with appropriate repair or replacement options without using high-pressure sales tactics. Calculate labor, materials, equipment, and project requirements. Take clear before-and-after photographs and enter detailed job notes, findings, material lists, and estimates into Workiz. Collect diagnostic fees, deposits, signatures, and final payments according to company policy. Communicate with dispatch and the office regarding job progress, additional work, materials, and scheduling. Follow the National Electrical Code, local requirements, company procedures, and established safety practices. Maintain an organized service vehicle, tools, and commonly used materials. Protect customer property and leave every work area clean. Required Qualifications Minimum five years of electrical field experience. At least three years of service and troubleshooting experience preferred. Current California General Electrician Certification. Strong residential and commercial electrical troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work independently and complete multiple scheduled service calls. Experience preparing electrical estimates and calculating labor and material requirements. Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills. Ability to confidently explain electrical problems and recommended solutions. Proficiency with multimeters, clamp meters, circuit tracers, and other diagnostic equipment. Ability to read electrical diagrams, panel schedules, and basic plans. Valid California driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for job notes, photographs, estimates, and customer communication. Must own basic electrical hand tools. Ability to safely use ladders and work in attics, crawlspaces, outdoor areas, and other field conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Experience with main-service panel upgrades, subpanels, rewires, EV chargers, load calculations, dedicated circuits, and permit corrections. Familiarity with Workiz or another field-service management platform. Previous electrical estimating or service-sales experience. Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus. Schedule Full-time position. Monday through Saturday availability as scheduled. Occasional overtime may be required depending on customer and project needs. What We Offer Consistent residential and commercial service work.
