Fuel Technician (Installation & Removal Foreman) Caliber Novaa Sacramento, CA Job Details Full-time | Contract $40 - $70 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Paid training Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Flexible schedule Life insurance Paid sick time Qualifications Construction plumbing Equipment installation High school diploma or GED Driver's License Mechanical excavators Trenching and excavation safety procedures Underground utilities installation Crew management USTs Construction trenching Full Job Description Job Summary Caliber Novaa | Sacramento, CA projects throughout Northern California Full-time | $40.00- $70.00/hour, DOE Build the systems that keeps your local gas station fueled. Every fueling station, fleet yard, emergency generator, and piece of critical infrastructure in this state runs on a tank system that someone had to install right, the first time, to code, with an inspector standing over their shoulder. That someone is us. Caliber Novaa is a Sacramento-based general contractor with a growing specialty fuel systems division. We design, install, and remove underground and aboveground fuel systems (UST/AST) across Northern California, and our reputation is built on one thing: doing complicated, code-heavy work correctly the first time. Inspectors know our name. General contractors call us back. Now we're looking for a Foreman/Supervisor to run one of our crews. If you hold your ICC UST Installation and Retrofit certification and you're the kind of person who'd rather be given a job and left alone to run it right than stand around waiting for direction, this seat has your name on it and it's a long-term one, with real ownership from day one. What you'll do Lead a crew of skilled tradespeople through UST and AST installation, retrofit, and removal projects, start to finish Own the job in the field: sequencing, manpower, materials, equipment, and daily production you're the one making the calls Operate excavators and install shoring for tank pits and trenches Perform and oversee the full scope of fuel system work, including plumbing, electrical, excavation and grading, and light concrete Keep every phase of the work compliant with fire code, manufacturer specifications, and inspection requirements Serve as the point of contact in the field for our office, inspectors, general contractors, and clients Keep the site safe, clean, and on schedule — no exceptions What you bring ICC UST Installation and Retrofit certification ( required ) — manufacturer certifications a plus, or we'll help you get them 3+ years of hands-on UST/AST installation and removal experience ( required ) Experience operating excavators and installing shoring/trench protection ( required ) A track record of leading a crew and holding people to a standard, not just supervising them Sharp organizational instincts and the ability to keep multiple moving pieces straight in a fast-paced environment Comfort working independently with minimal oversight — we trust our foremen to run their jobs Valid driver's license with a good driving record (you'll be issued a company service truck) Willingness to travel to out-of-town projects within California High school diploma or GED Currently based in Northern California, or willing to relocate — relocation assistance may be available What we offer Take-home truck, tools, and fuel — all work-related vehicle costs covered Steady, year-round work off a full project backlog — this isn't seasonal or feast-or-famine A real path up — we promote from the field, and certification and training are paid for Health coverage — medical and dental insurance 401(k) program Time off that adds up — two weeks paid vacation, 7 paid holidays, and 5 paid sick days per year Travel covered — all lodging and travel expenses paid in full for out-of-town work Pay that reflects your skill — $40.00- $70.00/hour based on experience, with higher rates on public works projects Why people stay here This isn't general construction, and that's the point. Fuel systems are a specialty trade with a shrinking pool of qualified people which means every certification and every job you run here makes you more valuable, not more replaceable. Our foremen are trusted to run their jobs, not micromanaged from an office fifty miles away. Bring the skill and the ownership mentality, and there's a long career here. Ready to run your own crew? Apply now with your resume and a short note on the UST/AST projects you've run. We move fast on candidates who already hold their ICC certification.
