6+ Years Plumbing / 2+ Years Management or Field Supervision About the Opportunity My Consulting is recruiting an experienced Senior Plumbing Field Supervisor for an established and growing plumbing company in San Diego. We are looking for a highly organized, dependable, hands-on leader with extensive plumbing knowledge and proven experience managing field teams. This is not an entry-level management position. The ideal candidate must be technically strong, an excellent problem solver, and capable of managing technicians, schedules, productivity, project deadlines, customer concerns, emergencies, and unexpected field situations. The Field Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring that field operations run efficiently and that every crew maintains high standards for workmanship, professionalism, productivity, safety, and customer service.
Minimum Requirements Candidates must have:
Minimum 6 years of professional plumbing experience Minimum 2 years of management, field supervision, foreman, or comparable leadership experience Strong hands-on experience with sewer systems, diagnostics, repair, and replacement Experience with trenchless sewer repair and replacement technologies Knowledge and hands-on experience with epoxy pipe lining and/or coating systems Experience with sewer camera inspections and diagnostics Strong knowledge of gas-line installation, repair, and replacement Strong knowledge of water-line installation, repair, and replacement Strong knowledge of traditional and tankless water heaters Strong residential and commercial plumbing knowledge Ability to troubleshoot complex plumbing and sewer problems Working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and job-site safety requirements Proven ability to supervise, coach, train, and hold field employees accountable Strong organizational and time-management skills Strong customer-service and communication skills Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Experience with ServiceTitan or comparable field-service management software is strongly preferred. Field Team Management The Senior Plumbing Field Supervisor will oversee and support multiple technicians, installers, apprentices, helpers, and field crews.
Responsibilities include:
Provide daily leadership and direction to field employees Create and coordinate field schedules based on workload, technician skills, job requirements, and project priorities Assign the appropriate technicians and crews to jobs Monitor daily schedules and job progress Adjust schedules when emergencies, delays, or unexpected circumstances occur Coordinate scheduling changes with dispatch and management Monitor attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and employee performance Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable Coach and mentor technicians, apprentices, and helpers Identify training needs and help employees improve their technical and professional skills Assist with onboarding and field training of new employees Productivity & Performance The Field Supervisor is responsible for helping the field department operate efficiently and productively.
Responsibilities include:
Monitor technician and crew productivity Monitor labor hours and job efficiency Track job progress against established schedules and deadlines Identify jobs that are taking longer than expected and determine the cause Take corrective action when projects begin falling behind schedule Reduce unnecessary overtime, downtime, and return trips Monitor callbacks, rework, and workmanship issues Identify performance problems and training opportunities Help crews improve productivity without sacrificing workmanship, safety, or customer service Work with management to continuously improve field operations Quality Control & Technical Support The Field Supervisor must have enough hands-on plumbing experience to provide reliable technical direction to field employees.

Visit active job sites and inspect workmanship Conduct field quality-control inspections Troubleshoot difficult plumbing and sewer problems Provide technical support when technicians encounter complex situations Review sewer camera inspections and proposed solutions when necessary Support and oversee trenchless and epoxy lining projects Verify proper installation and repair of sewer, gas, water, and water-heating systems Ensure work meets company quality standards Ensure work complies with applicable plumbing codes and safety requirements Identify workmanship problems before jobs are completed Help reduce callbacks and ensure corrective work is completed promptly Ensure jobs are completed correctly the first time Project Scheduling & Deadlines The Field Supervisor is responsible for helping projects stay organized and on schedule.
This includes:
Create and maintain field schedules Coordinate multiple crews and projects simultaneously Establish priorities based on project requirements and deadlines Monitor project progress throughout the day Identify potential delays before they affect project completion Reassign manpower and resources when necessary Coordinate with management, dispatch, warehouse, sales, and other departments Ensure crews have the necessary tools, equipment, and materials Maintain accountability for established project timelines Work efficiently under pressure to ensure project deadlines are met Problem Solving & Emergency Response The Field Supervisor must be a strong problem solver who can work efficiently in high-pressure situations .

Respond to urgent field problems Evaluate unexpected job-site conditions and determine appropriate solutions Make timely decisions when projects do not go according to plan Reorganize crews and schedules when emergencies occur Resolve technical and operational problems that could delay projects Communicate significant field issues to management Be reasonably available for after-hours and emergency situations when necessary Report to job sites during emergencies when hands-on supervisory support is required Take ownership of problems and follow them through to resolution Customer Relations The Field Supervisor must be comfortable working directly with customers, including difficult or high-pressure customer situations.

Compensation & Benefits Target Base Salary:
$75,000-$115,000 per year, depending on experience and KPI. Performance-based bonus opportunities may be available in addition to base compensation.
