Construction Foreman Job Description This role leads and oversees construction projects from start to finish, coordinating day-to-day field operations, supervising crews and subcontractors, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard of quality. You will interpret plans, manage resources, and maintain project schedules and budgets while fostering a safe, professional, and collaborative job site. This position offers the opportunity to shape successful projects, mentor team members, and deliver an outstanding customer experience. Responsibilities Lead and supervise construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Coordinate daily on-site operations, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and resolving issues to keep projects moving forward. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to guide on-site activities and ensure work aligns with project specifications. Use construction management software to plan, track, and document project schedules, progress, and key milestones. Monitor adherence to project timelines and budgets, and adjust workflows or resource allocation as needed to stay on target. Enforce safety protocols in accordance with OSHA regulations and internal standards, and conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections. Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment to ensure crews have the resources needed to perform their work. Conduct quality control inspections to verify that work meets or exceeds established standards and client expectations. Oversee site logistics, including equipment placement, material staging, and workflow sequencing, to optimize productivity and minimize disruptions. Troubleshoot construction issues promptly, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize delays. Collaborate with project stakeholders to maintain clear communication and alignment on scope, schedule, and expectations. Support a professional, clean, and organized job site, reinforcing company values such as integrity, respect, and teamwork. Essential Skills Proven management experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising active construction sites. Extensive hands-on experience with construction site operations, including blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and construction estimating. Proficiency with construction management software for project scheduling, tracking, and documentation. Solid knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a safe work environment. Familiarity with contract administration, budgeting processes, and project scheduling techniques. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct teams, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accountability. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with crew members, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to quality craftsmanship, safety, and customer service. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with heavy equipment, pipeline projects, or electrical systems. background in construction, mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work, or facilities maintenance. Hands-on experience with painting, drywall installation and repair, and general building repair. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and building issues and implement effective repairs. Comfort interpreting detailed blueprints and technical drawings across multiple trades. Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment with engineers, technicians, and other field professionals. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional but rare weekend work as needed. Typical shifts run from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., depending on project requirements and work orders. The role is field-based on active construction sites and facilities, where you will collaborate closely with a team of engineers, technicians, and other trade professionals across disciplines such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, drywall, painting, and general facilities maintenance. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with an expectation of professional appearance and conduct at all times. Work may involve exposure to outdoor conditions, active equipment, and varying site conditions typical of construction and maintenance projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pleasanton, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
