Role Summary The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for leading the day-to-day field execution of commercial plumbing installations. This position requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage manpower, understand construction documents, plan upcoming work, coordinate with other trades, maintain productivity, and communicate project needs before they become problems. The Foreman works closely with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with MCI's quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise plumbing crews on commercial construction projects. Plan daily and weekly field activities based on project schedules and upcoming milestones. Assign manpower effectively and monitor crew productivity. Maintain and communicate a Two-Week Look Ahead for upcoming work, manpower, materials, equipment, and project constraints. Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and coordination drawings. Coordinate plumbing installations with mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, and other trades. Attend required project coordination and field meetings. Identify conflicts, missing information, material requirements, and potential delays before they impact field production. Communicate RFIs, field conditions, and coordination issues to the Superintendent and Project Manager. Coordinate material and equipment needs in advance to maintain workflow. Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower records, production tracking, safety documentation, and other required project records. Monitor installed work for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, plumbing codes, and MCI quality standards. Coordinate and manage subcontractors when applicable. Enforce MCI safety requirements and conduct required safety meetings and pre-task planning. Maintain an organized, professional, and safe jobsite. Train, mentor, and develop plumbers, helpers, and apprentices. Participate directly in field installation when necessary to support the crew and project schedule. Take ownership of assigned scope from initial layout through testing, inspections, punch list, and final completion. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience preferred. Previous experience as a Plumbing Foreman, Lead Plumber, or similar field leadership position. Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and installation practices. Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and coordination drawings. Working knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and construction standards. Strong understanding of jobsite planning, manpower management, and material coordination. Ability to lead crews while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety expectations. Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, email, and construction management/reporting software. Experience with Procore or similar construction management platforms is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with project management, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Physical Requirements This position requires regular construction-site activity including standing, walking, climbing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying tools and construction materials. Employees must be capable of safely lifting and carrying materials and equipment typically associated with commercial plumbing work and must perform all activities in accordance with OSHA requirements and MCI safety policies.
