We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Foreman to lead electrical crews on commercial and industrial construction projects. This position combines hands-on electrical knowledge with field leadership, planning, quality control, and job-site coordination. Projects may include VA hospitals and other healthcare facilities, jails and correctional facilities, airports, military bases, government facilities, and commercial/industrial buildings. Responsibilities
- Crew Leadership
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate electricians and helpers on-site; assign work and maintain crew productivity.
- Layout & Planning
- Plan electrical installations, lay out work from drawings and specifications, coordinate manpower and materials, and help maintain project schedules.
- Electrical Oversight
- Oversee conduit, wire, panels, feeders, branch circuits, lighting, devices, grounding/bonding, equipment connections, and other electrical installations.
- Blueprints & Documentation
- Interpret blueprints, one-lines, schematics, specifications, and technical drawings and communicate requirements clearly to the field team.
- Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and installation issues and coordinate solutions with project management when field conditions change.
- Code, Quality & Safety
- Ensure work meets NEC, OSHA, project specifications, customer requirements, and company quality and safety standards.
- Job-Site Coordination
- Communicate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, customers, and other trades regarding progress, scheduling, access, and field conditions.
- Secure & Critical Facilities
- Ensure crews follow all site-specific access, security, infection-control, badging, escort, and work-area requirements at controlled facilities.
- Records & Materials
- Track labor, materials, progress, job-site conditions, and other required field documentation.
- Travel
- Travel to project locations as needed. Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of electrical construction experience with proven commercial and/or industrial field experience.
- Previous lead or foreman experience with the ability to organize crews, communicate expectations, and maintain productivity.
- Strong knowledge of NEC requirements, OSHA safety practices, and commercial electrical construction methods.
- Electrician's license or journeyman certification preferred but not required, depending on experience and project requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience working in VA hospitals, healthcare facilities, jails/correctional facilities, airports, military bases, government facilities, or other commercial/industrial environments is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Must be willing to travel local and out of state
- Must be able to pass background checks
- Valid driver's license and pass a MVR check
