Job Description

Grundy County REC is seeking an experienced Line Foreman to lead a line crew in the construction, maintenance, operation, and repair of electric distribution facilities. This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced lineman who takes pride in safe, quality work and providing reliable service to Cooperative members.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinates daily crew activities, provides hands-on technical leadership and guidance, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Cooperative standards. Plan and organize personnel, equipment, materials, and work assignments. Direct and perform overhead and underground construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on both energized and de-energized distribution systems. Perform the duties of a qualified First-Class Lineman Respond to outages and assist with safe and timely restoration of service. Conduct job briefings and ensure compliance with Cooperative safety procedures, OSHA, NESC, RUS, and other applicable requirements. Safely operate and maintain trucks, aerial equipment, tools, and other line equipment. Complete required work orders, records, inspections, and reports. Communicate professionally with members, contractors, and the public.
Required qualifications:
High school diploma. Graduate of a Power Lineman technical course. Minimum of four years of line work and training. Valid and maintainable Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Strong knowledge of distribution line construction, operation, maintenance, and safety practices. Ability to provide effective leadership, mentoring, and on-the-job training. Commitment to safe work practices and excellent service to Cooperative members. Work Environment This position involves outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions and requires climbing, standing, bending, pulling, reaching, and lifting. Work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required for outages, emergencies, or other operational needs. The physical demands of the position include standing, climbing, crawling, bending, pulling, and reaching, as well as occasionally lifting or exerting up to 75 pounds. Why Grundy Center?
