Job Description

Lead the Crew. Deliver Reliable Power. Serve Your Community. Wheatland Electric Cooperative is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Line Foreman to lead line crews in the construction, maintenance, repair, and restoration of overhead and underground electric distribution systems. This position provides hands-on leadership while ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Cooperative policies and industry regulations. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise line crews performing energized and de-energized utility line construction and maintenance. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and Cooperative work practices. Respond to outages, emergencies, and member service needs. Train, mentor, and develop apprentice linemen and crew members. Perform and oversee overhead and underground line construction, maintenance, and service restoration. Operate and maintain line equipment, including bucket trucks, diggers, trenchers, forklifts, and skid loaders. Conduct inspections, troubleshoot electrical distribution issues, and restore service safely and efficiently. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed. Maintain accurate records, material inventories, crew timekeeping, and equipment inspections. Support member relations by communicating effectively and promoting Cooperative programs and services. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a Department of Labor approved 4-year Lineman Apprenticeship Program. Journeyman Lineman certification required. Two years of Journeyman Lineman experience preferred. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Must live in or be willing to relocate to the assigned service area in accordance with Cooperative requirements. Why Join Us?
