Asphalt Laydown Foreman - Road Construction

Asphalt Laydown Foreman Earnest Contracting is seeking a crew foreman with knowledge and experience in asphalt and/or concrete road paving (work references will be checked). This Foreman will oversee a crew working on one of our paving projects. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to planning the work for the day, assigning tasks to the workers, bringing the required machinery to the work site, tracking the attendance of their crew, monitoring the level of materials, and assuring that the project stays within the budget and on schedule. Foreman Responsibilities:

Reports directly to the Asphalt or Concrete Operations Managers. Supervise, coordinate, schedule the activities of, and work with a crew of 2+ workers. Coordinate with Operations Manager on a daily basis, reviewing the project needs and schedule. Responsible daily for gathering any needed building supplies, materials, tools, etc. for their crew/project. Record daily time, production, RFI's, field reports, daily traffic logs, and site conditions for their crew. Schedule proper maintenance for all equipment with Operations Manager. Confer with Operations Manager or Logistics Coordinator to resolve problems. Utilize knowledge of asphalt and/or concrete quality control measures to produce quality paving. Responsible for the training and skill growth of their crew. Monitor and ensure on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness. On occasions may assist with general labor and equipment operation tasks as needed. Works with the Operations Manager and Fleet Manager to schedule the needed trucks to avoid any stoppage of work. Works with the Operations Manager and Yard Manager to schedule the needed supplies and materials to avoid any stoppage of work.

Foreman Experience/Education Requirements:

Previous experience as a foreman (2+ years preferred) or mastery of skilled labor position. 3+ years of experience in asphalt or concrete road construction. Must be able to perform at a high level all skills related to road construction (both skilled labor and job specific equipment operation). Must be capable of figuring the needed yield and tonnage. Experience as an asphalt screed operator is preferred for an Asphalt Foreman. Proficient with or able to quickly learn MS Word, Excel, and HeavyJob software. Proficient with taking and uploading digital photographs. Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents. Clean driving record/valid drivers' license (Class A CDL license is a plus). Manually lift/carry 50-100 lbs. Stand, walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods of time. Ability to perform all required tasks during all weather conditions (hot/cold), and to work extended hours, as needed. •Note - Earnest Contracting is an EEO employer and a drug-free workplace. $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
