Job Description

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is looking for a Piping / Welding Foreman to join the team in the Asheville, NC area. This is a permanent, full-time position. This position provides daily supervision, coordinates field activities, maintains quality standards, and promotes a culture of safety and teamwork. We are looking for someone local to Asheville. We are not looking for travelling tradespeople. Military Veterans encouraged to apply!

Starting pay is dependent upon experience. Continued growth depends on you. Annual pay reviews.

Tasks:
Safety is our #1 priority. Ensure everyone is working in a safe manner and always wearing appropriate PPE. Coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Perform layout, installation oversight, and quality control of commercial piping systems. Plan manpower, materials, tools, and equipment required for assigned work. Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping records, and project documentation. Train, mentor, and develop journeymen and apprentices. Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Contractors, and other trades to resolve field issues. Inspect work to ensure compliance with contract requirements, company standards, and applicable codes. Support project startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities. Other duties as assigned.
Experience or Certification needed:
5 or more years of commercial piping and/or welding installation. Prior experience Foreman experience is preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents. Working knowledge of applicable mechanical and building codes. Valid driver's license required. You need to be able to: Keep it a Drug-free Workplace. Be punctual and reliable. Work in extremes of heat, cold and bad weather, indoors and outdoors. Stand and walk throughout the workday, and lift/carry up to 60 lbs. Work efficiently in confined spaces. Ability to problem-solve and make decisions that directly impact the project. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Work reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending.
