This is a hands-on field leadership role for someone who can lead a crew, work alongside the team, and deliver commercial metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceiling tile, flooring and painting scopes safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The Opportunity You will be the field leader for Gen-Con Group's interior finish work. You will coordinate daily production, solve field issues, protect the schedule, and set the standard for workmanship and professionalism. • Lead and work alongside field crews performing commercial cold-formed metal framing, drywall hanging and finishing, ACT grid and tile installation, and painting.
• Plan daily work from drawings, specifications, schedules, and superintendent direction; assign manpower and communicate production goals.
• Lay out walls, ceilings, soffits, openings, backing, and related assemblies accurately before installation begins.
• Coordinate materials, tools, lifts, access, deliveries, inspections, and upcoming work so crews remain productive.
• Track installed quantities, labor hours, percent complete, field changes, and constraints; provide clear daily updates to project leadership.
• Inspect work in progress for quality, plumb and level conditions, finish requirements, manufacturer instructions, and contract compliance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and lead required pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and corrective action.
• Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, vendors, and inspectors to resolve conflicts and prevent rework.
• Train, coach, and hold crew members accountable for safety, attendance, productivity, quality, and professional conduct.
• Support punch-list completion, closeout, and a clean turnover while protecting completed work. Required Qualifications
• At least 5 years of commercial interior finish experience, including proven field leadership as a foreman or lead installer.
• Strong hands-on ability in commercial metal framing and drywall, with demonstrated experience in ACT installation.
• Working knowledge of commercial painting preparation, application, sequencing, and quality expectations.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, reflected ceiling plans, details, specifications, and construction schedules.
• Ability to plan work, lead crews, measure production, document field conditions, and communicate clearly with project teams.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and safe use of ladders, scaffolds, lifts, power tools, and material-handling equipment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to commercial jobsites.
• Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting materials, climbing ladders, and working from elevated platforms. Preferred Qualifications
• OSHA 30, aerial lift, scaffold, first aid, or other relevant safety credentials.
• Experience organizing multiple crews or projects and helping recruit and develop field talent.
• Experience with layout technology, field reporting, digital plans, and construction management software.
• Experience on occupied renovations, phased work, public projects, or prevailing-wage projects. What Success Looks Like
