Job Description

Project Foreman Select Excavation & Landscaping

• Epping, NH

• Full-time, year-round Select Excavation is hiring an experienced Project Foreman to run a water and sewer crew. You'll lead a small crew installing and repairing water and sewer lines across Rockingham and Strafford County — trenching to depth and grade, tie-ins, service connections, septic installs, and restoration. We're a local contractor, started 16 years ago by an owner who ran the machine himself, and we've built the business on doing the work right and standing behind it. This is a job for someone who takes the same view: you own your site, your crew, and the quality of what goes in the ground.

Location:

Epping, NH — jobs throughout Salem, Plaistow, Hampstead, Chester, Derry, Exeter, Londonderry, Windham, Nottingham and surrounding towns. No overnight travel.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, typical start 6:00-7:00am. Overtime in season.

Reports to:

Operations Manager What you'll do Run the day-to-day on water and sewer installs and repairs — mains, services, laterals, tie-ins, hydrants, valves, manholes and structures. Set and hold line and grade. Read plans and profiles, run laser or GPS grade control, and verify depth and slope before backfill. Lead a crew of two to four: assign the work, set the pace, and keep people productive and safe. Call in Dig Safe locates, confirm marks on site, and protect existing utilities. Manage trench safety — shoring, boxes, sloping, spoil placement, and competent-person inspections. Coordinate with inspectors, town water and sewer departments, general contractors, and homeowners on site.

Keep the job moving:

materials on site, equipment where it needs to be, and the office told early when something changes. Report daily — production, crew hours, materials used, photos, and field conditions. Handle restoration and site cleanup so the job is left the way we want our name on it. Train newer crew members and hold the standard on quality and safety. What we're looking for Required CDL A 3+ years in underground utility construction, with at least 2 years leading a crew as a foreman or lead operator a plus. Proven ability to set and hold line and grade, and to read plans and profiles. Competent, safe excavator operator; comfortable on skid steer and loader. Working knowledge of trench safety requirements and OSHA excavation standards. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors year-round in New England weather. Reliable, on time, and able to communicate clearly with customers and inspectors. Preferred OSHA 10 or 30; competent-person trench training. New Hampshire water/sewer or utility experience, and familiarity with local permitting and inspection. Septic system install experience — tanks, D-boxes, leach fields. Comfortable using a phone or tablet for job notes, photos, and time Pay and benefits $30.00 - $45.00 per hour , depending on experience, plus overtime. Health insurance — Anthem Blue Cross Paid time off and holidays — 6 holiday and 1 week of paid vacation after 1 year Company truck Paid training and certifications Year-round work — we don't shut the crews down How to apply Send a resume or a short work history to info@nhexcavation.com or apply through Indeed.
