Commercial Electrician Job Description We are seeking experienced Commercial Electrician for new construction and renovation projects in commercial buildings and warehouse facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on electrical experience, be safety‑focused, and able to work independently or as part of a crew on fast‑paced job sites. Responsibilities Bend, thread, and install EMT, aluminum, and galvanized pipes ranging from ½" to 4". Operate pulling machines, threading tools, and hydraulic benders. Read and interpret fire alarm schematics and install devices according to NYC FA Code. Perform data, Cat6, and RJ45 terminations. Wire and install receptacles, lighting, switching, and understand dimming systems. Install and troubleshoot dimming systems. Handle condensing units, air handlers, and condensate pumps. Install disconnect switches, end-of-line boxes, and meter banks. Work with trough and wiremold, and troubleshoot electrical faults and poor connections. Apply knowledge of electrical panels, live parts, and electrical safety. Perform load calculations and be familiar with AWG to MCM. Essential Skills Electrical wiring and conduit bending. Blueprint reading and electrical drawing interpretation. Proficiency in 3-way and 4-way switching. Understanding of electrical panels, live parts, and electrical safety. Knowledge of NYC and national electrical codes.

Work with a large private commercial electrical contractor on high-end retail and large commercial projects alongside some of New York's largest general contractors. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carteret, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
