Established in 2010, Nextgen Electric has built an excellent reputation by producing quality work and providing professional, reliable service. Our projects and accounts are mainly commercial, industrial, and public. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to lead commercial and industrial projects. Candidates will be responsible for managing field operations, coordinating with project management, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Candidates with 10+ years of experience will be prioritized. Leadership and supervisory experience is desired; as well as, fire alarm, controls, EV infrastructure, and generator experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and lead electrical crews on active job sites Plan daily work activities and allocate manpower efficiently Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project schedules Coordinate material deliveries and proactively manage shortages Maintain production targets and monitor labor hours Enforce OSHA and company safety policies Conduct toolbox talks and promote a safety-first culture Interface with general contractors, inspectors, engineers, and project managers Identify and communicate change orders Train and mentor apprentices and junior mechanics Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
7+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience 3+ years in a leadership role (Foreman or Lead Mechanic) Proven track record running projects from rough-in to closeout. Experience on large scale commercial projects.
Technical:
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Ability to lay out conduit runs, switchgear, panels, lighting systems, and branch circuitry Experience with service installations, feeders, and distribution equipment Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems Comfortable using construction technology (tablets, digital plans, project software) Estimating & Take-off experience would be a plus but is not expected.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of a Technical School/Journeyman Program is a plus. Additional certifications and training is a plus. OSHA 30 Certification.
General:
Reliable transportation to and from jobsites is necessary. Must hold a valid Driver's License. Our office is located in Fairfield and our service area encompasses predominantly North and Central New Jersey, with occasional projects in South Jersey. Candidates should consider this and their commute when applying. Individuals located within one hour from our office will be prioritized. Due to the nature of the position, potential candidates must be able to lift over 50 pounds, work on their feet, and expect strenuous tasks when on duty.
SCHEDULE
This position is to be Full-Time, generally 40 base-hours weekly, with occasional Over-Time opportunities available after hours and on weekends. Over-Time is optional, but 30 minutes to one hour overtime to complete projects is common and to be occasionally expected. Standard working hours are 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary:
Salary is determined based on experience. (TBD) The budgeted hourly rate for this role is $35.00 - $50.00 per hour. Opportunities for overtime. An overtime rate of 1.5x your hourly rate is provided for any hours over the standard 40.
