Full Job Description Position Summary/General Description:

The Electrical Efficiency Trainer supports field productivity, quality, and workforce development by mentoring younger foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and electrical helpers. This role helps teams improve installation methods, understand project expectations, strengthen safety practices, and build consistent habits that support efficient electrical construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentoring and Field Development Mentor journeymen, apprentices, and electrical helpers on proper installation methods, planning, sequencing, and jobsite efficiency. Provide hands-on coaching in the field to improve workmanship, production flow, and communication between crew members. Help develop understanding of how to plan work, organize labor, track materials, coordinate with other trades, and communicate project needs. Promote a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvement. Inspection Support and Quality Review Sit in on inspections when needed to observe inspector feedback, gather lessons learned, and help field teams understand code, quality, and documentation expectations. Review recurring inspection items and communicate practical corrective actions to foremen and crews. Support quality control by identifying installation issues early and helping teams correct them before they affect schedule or rework. Share inspection trends with leadership so training topics can be adjusted to address real field conditions. Procore Documentation and Information Gathering Gather project information in Procore, including drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, observations, inspection notes, punch items, and other field documentation as assigned. Use Procore information to prepare training examples, identify common field questions, and support lessons learned discussions. Help foremen and field leaders understand how to locate and use project information accurately before beginning work. Encourage consistent documentation habits that improve communication between the field, project management, prefab, and quality teams. Prefab Lab Leadership Serve as a leader in the prefab lab by supporting layout, assembly methods, material organization, workflow improvements, and quality expectations. Coordinate with field leaders to identify prefab opportunities that reduce rework, improve installation speed, and support project schedules. Train employees on prefab standards, safe tool use, labeling, packaging, staging, and delivery expectations. Provide feedback to leadership on prefab processes, productivity opportunities, and training needs. Classroom Training Develop and deliver classroom training for apprentices, helpers, journeymen, foremen, and other field personnel as needed. Provide instruction on electrical efficiency, installation best practices, safety expectations, blueprint reading, material planning, prefab coordination, Procore basics, and lessons learned from inspections. Prepare training materials, demonstrations, worksheets, and practical examples that connect classroom learning to jobsite conditions. Track participation, gather feedback, and recommend future training topics based on field performance and project needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong electrical field experience with a solid understanding of installation sequencing, safety practices, drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Ability to coach employees at different experience levels with patience, clarity, and professionalism. Working knowledge of Procore or willingness to strengthen Procore skills for project documentation and information gathering. Strong communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with foremen, project managers, inspectors, prefab teams, and field crews. Must be able to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening.

Licensing & Certification:

New Mexico Licensed Journeymen Electrician (EE98J).
