Full Job Description Position Focus:
This Site Foreman position will have a primary focus on commercial utility work, with the ability to flex to other site and crew needs.
Position Summary:
This position is our leader on site and integral to our overall company success. The Foreman will coordinate and assign tasks, lead site meetings, prioritize schedules, objectives, and workflow. The Foreman will be responsible for the operation of the project, directing team members, and ensuring project effectiveness in both internal and external impact.
Primary Duties:
Lead by example on all sites. Lead a high-performing team by coordinating daily site meetings, facilitating project tasks, overseeing all aspects of assigned projects in order to serve our customers. Consistently review job specifications to determine materials, tools, and equipment needed prior to reporting to the job site. Communicate effectively to crew members regarding plans on time allotment, tools needed, and order of work - assign duties to your crew for work to be performed. Ensure projects remain within budgeted cost and time. Remain responsible for and focused on personal and company growth. Maintain and exceed safe work environment requirements set forth by Garrett Excavating and OSHA. Must be able to read drawings and execute accordingly. Ensure all job documentation is done completely/accurately. Participate in all aspects of site work as needed. Execute complete excavation projects including but not limited to clearing, demolition, sewer taps, foundation prep, concrete prep, underground utilities, and grading. Utility and underground work. Adapt to weather conditions to complete jobs year round.
Minimum Qualifications:
Willingness and desire to get dirty and in the trenches with your team. 5+ years of excavation and utility work experience. Ability to run various pieces of equipment (Skid Steer, Excavator, Loader, Dozer). Ability to communicate clearly to the team and other contractors on site. Ability to fully understand the construction process and requirements to perform a satisfactory result. Willingness to create a culture of accountability, hard work and fun. Must be able to solve complicated problems in a team environment, in a timely manner. Be able to follow, develop, and manage systems to create satisfactory results. Desire to achieve the best result for our customers. Basic construction or mechanical knowledge. Knowledge of standard construction equipment and materials. Ability to communicate effectively and to collaborate with Equipment Operators, Foreman, Project Managers, GCs and other necessary construction personnel. Must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Class A Commercial Drivers License. Previous management experience. OSHA 30 Construction Certification. Strong site excavation and development construction management knowledge. Excellent technical skills and understanding of construction methods, contracts, and blueprints. Usable knowledge of computer and mobile softwares.
