Job Description

We are looking for an experienced asphalt paving assistant to the foreman with a minimum of 3+ years progressive commercial paving experience. This position will be expected to assist the foreman, coordinate tasks relative to paving and grading operations work on residential, commercial, and industrial job sites. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and career-driven with leadership qualities. Job Responsibilities - What will you do? Understands the various aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, mix designs, job plans & specifications, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving. Supports the foreman and a crew of 5-10 team members by delegating tasks to ensure daily productions are met or exceeded. Aids foreman when scheduling trucking, equipment, and labor needs with superintendent for upcoming work. Engages in open communication with the foreman, superintendent and/or project managers. Quickly reports any issues which could affect the project plan. May operate asphalt paver (screed side) while paving or other equipment as needed during different phases of the job. Supports foreman by capturing crew's time. Communicates with crew members and management to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Qualifications - Who are we looking for? 3+ years of progressive commercial paving experience including laboring and heavy equipment operation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Candidate must be able to read blueprints and set up lasers. Focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations. Ability to work in a team environment. Able to commute to jobsites.
