IMMEDIATE OPENING TL

Jackson Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Excavation Operator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on field position that goes beyond basic equipment operation. The ideal candidate will take a leadership role in sitework operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. This role primarily supports residential construction projects, including new home construction, superior precast wall systems, post frame buildings, and lot clearing. There will also be opportunities to work on light industrial projects. Key Responsibilities

• Operate a wide range of excavation equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and related machinery
• Oversee and execute all aspects of sitework operations
• Supervise and manage ground labor crews to maintain productivity and quality standards
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
• Perform installation of septic systems and sand mounds
• Install foundations and footers
• Install stormwater management systems
• Conduct concrete site preparation and grading
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and local regulations
• Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and other trades on-site
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper daily inspections Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proven ability to operate excavation equipment with precision and efficiency
• Strong understanding of sitework processes and sequencing
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
• Experience with septic systems, foundations, stormwater systems, and site prep
• Leadership experience managing field crews
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in excavation and sitework
• CDL Class A license
• Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and inspection requirements Compensation & Benefits
