Waterfront Construction Crew Lead / Working Foreman Waterfront Unlimited is hiring an experienced Construction Crew Lead / Working Foreman to help lead a small crew building custom waterfront projects throughout the Guadalupe River lakes. Our work includes steel-framed boathouses, concrete docks and piers, boat lifts, bulkheads, retaining walls, shoreline improvements and waterfront restoration. This is a hands-on position . The Crew Lead works alongside the crew while taking responsibility for daily jobsite organization, productivity, workmanship and safety. Responsibilities Lead and work alongside a small construction crew Plan daily work and keep projects moving efficiently Read plans, measurements and elevations and perform field layout Perform structural steel fitting, fabrication and welding Operate skid steers, compact track loaders and excavators Perform concrete, excavation, demolition and site work Assist with pile installation, rigging and structural framing Construct boathouses, docks, piers, bulkheads and retaining walls Install and repair boat lifts and related waterfront equipment Maintain quality, safety and an organized jobsite Identify and solve field construction problems Communicate progress, material needs and jobsite issues to management Take care of company tools and equipment Interact professionally with customers and protect their property Qualifications We are looking for someone with strong hands-on construction experience and the ability to lead a crew . Experience in several of the following areas is preferred: Construction crew leadership Structural steel fabrication and welding Reading plans and construction layout Skid steer and excavator operation Concrete and excavation Rigging and lifting Pile installation Dock, boathouse or marine construction Bulkheads and retaining walls Waterfront construction experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong backgrounds in structural steel, welding/fabrication, heavy construction, excavation, concrete or similar trades are encouraged to apply. The right candidate will be dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable solving problems in the field and willing to work alongside the crew while providing leadership and direction. Requirements Hands-on construction experience Crew-lead or foreman experience preferred Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to safely operate construction tools and equipment Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor construction work Comfortable working around water and from docks, boats and barges Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Pay & Benefits $25-$32 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated ability. Starting pay will depend on construction and leadership experience, equipment-operating ability, welding/fabrication skills and relevant waterfront construction experience.
