We self-perform water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and site work for commercial projects within roughly 30 miles of Waco. Position Summary We are hiring an Operating Foreman to lead a crew of 3 to 4 on commercial water, sewer, and storm drainage projects. This is a working Foreman position. You will run the excavator and lead the crew from the seat, not from the truck. We are looking for someone who has real experience digging around live utilities on active commercial and municipal sites. Operators whose experience is limited to quarry, mass excavation, or open-field work will not be a fit for this role. Responsibilities Lead and direct a crew of 3 to 4 on water, sewer, and storm drainage installation Operate the excavator daily, including trenching, bedding, and setting pipe and structures Locate, expose, and work around live gas, electric, water, communication, and sewer utilities safely Read plans, cut sheets, and grade stakes and set pipe to line and grade Check grade with a laser and verify installation before backfill Plan the crew's daily work and keep production on schedule Maintain trench safety, shoring, and OSHA compliance on the job Track daily production, materials, and manpower and report to the Superintendent Keep equipment maintained, greased, and inspected Minimum Requirements 5+ years of underground utility construction experience laying water and sewer Proven excavator operating experience on utility work, specifically digging around live utilities Prior experience leading a crew as a Foreman or lead man Ability to read plans, cut sheets, and grade stakes Proficient at shooting grade with a laser Working knowledge of trench safety and competent person requirements OSHA 30 certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Local to the Waco area. All of our work is within roughly 30 miles of Waco. Physically fit for field work, including the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs Verifiable references Preferred Qualifications Competent Person training for excavation and trenching Experience with GPS machine control or Leica survey equipment Experience with Procore or similar construction management software Compensation and Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Benefits package Please Note Applicants who do not meet the minimum experience and location requirements will not be considered.
