Plumbing Superintendent - Commercial Retrofits & Special Projects Richmond, VA | Direct Hire | $42-$48/hr | Monday-Friday, Day Shift Kodiak Labor Solutions is hiring a Plumbing Superintendent for a direct-hire opportunity with an established commercial mechanical contractor in the Richmond area. This is not a typical ground-up construction superintendent role. We're looking for a hands-on plumbing leader who knows how to run commercial retrofits, change-outs, renovations, and special projects in existing commercial and industrial facilities. You'll oversee multiple projects, coordinate field crews, solve installation challenges, and make sure the work gets completed safely, efficiently, and to spec. For You $42-$48/hour , based on experience Direct-hire, long-term opportunity Monday-Friday day schedule Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage 401(k) with company match Paid leave and holidays Short- and long-term disability and life insurance Tuition reimbursement, training, and career-development opportunities Employee referral and additional company incentive programs What You Will Do Lead commercial plumbing retrofit, change-out, renovation, and installation projects Oversee multiple active special projects and coordinate day-to-day field execution Supervise plumbers, mechanics, apprentices, and helpers while remaining engaged with the work in the field Plan manpower, tools, materials, and labor hours to keep projects productive and on schedule Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, job orders, shop drawings, and spool drawings Inspect work in progress and completed installations for quality and specification compliance Coordinate field installation activities and troubleshoot issues common to existing-building retrofit work Coach crews on safe, productive work practices and maintain accountability for jobsite safety requirements Monitor project labor and costs and identify opportunities to improve field efficiency Communicate effectively with project teams and use tools such as tablets, smartphones, Microsoft Teams, Procore, and BIM-related technology What We Are Seeking 5+ years of commercial plumbing industry experience , including field leadership or supervisory responsibility Strong background in commercial plumbing construction and installation Proven experience leading retrofits, renovations, change-outs, tenant improvements, or other special-project work Ability to independently run field operations and oversee multiple smaller projects Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, applicable codes, installation practices, and jobsite safety Ability to read plans, specifications, shop drawings, and spool drawings Strong manpower planning, problem-solving, and crew-leadership skills OSHA 30 certification preferred Experience with Procore and other construction technology is a plus Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required Commercial Plumbing Superintendent | Plumbing Field Leadership | Plumbing Crew Supervision | Working Superintendent | Commercial Plumbing Installation | Retrofit & Special Projects | Plumbing Renovations & Change-Outs | Multiple Project Oversight | Manpower Planning & Crew Coordination | Field Productivity | Plumbing Plan & Specification Reading | Shop & Spool Drawings | Plumbing Code Knowledge | Jobsite Safety Leadership | OSHA 30 | Labor & Cost Control | Field Problem Solving | Leadership Development | Procore |
