Birmingham Metro Area Pay:

$20-$22 per hour based on verified experience and demonstrated ability. Paid biweekly.

Schedule:

Primarily Monday through Friday, approximately 40 hours per week. Jobsite locations and start times vary. Overtime must be approved and is paid as required by law. Position Summary Wunder Realty and Construction is a growing residential construction company seeking a dependable, versatile field technician to work directly with company ownership and alongside an entry-level general laborer. This is not a cleanup-only or helper-only position. The right person can take a written assignment, gather the needed tools and materials, complete the work safely and correctly, clean the area, photograph the result, and clearly report anything that remains unresolved. Primary Responsibilities Complete residential punch-list items, minor repairs, hardware installation, shelving, mirrors, trim, cabinet adjustments, locks, crawlspace doors, and similar finish work. Perform selective demolition, jobsite preparation, debris removal, material staging, loading, unloading, and organized cleanup. Assist with insulation, fireblocking, weather protection, surface protection, minor carpentry, minor concrete and rebar work, and other general construction tasks. Perform landscaping, seeding and straw, erosion-control work, drainage and French-drain support, pressure washing, and exterior cleanup. Pick up and deliver construction materials and maintain accurate receipts, photos, and job notes as required. Safely operate common hand tools, power tools, ladders, pressure washers, and approved small equipment. Assist licensed trades as directed without independently performing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other work that requires a separate license. Work productively with an entry-level laborer and, after proving ability, lead small two-person assignments as directed by ownership. Report damage, missing materials, unsafe conditions, scope conflicts, and work that cannot be completed correctly before covering it up or moving on. Minimum Qualifications At least two years of residential construction, remodeling, property maintenance, or comparable field experience preferred. Working knowledge of residential construction sequencing and common materials. Ability to accurately use a tape measure and common hand and power tools. Valid driver's license, acceptable driving history, and dependable transportation to report to work. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and ability to report to changing jobsite locations. Smartphone capable of receiving work orders and submitting job photos, time records, and receipts. Ability to regularly lift and carry approximately 50 pounds and perform physical construction work outdoors, on stairs, and on ladders, with or without reasonable accommodation. Willingness to complete reference checks, a paid skills assessment, and a pre-employment drug screen following a conditional offer.
