Fort Novosel (Fort Rucker), AL Position Summary FJ Palmore Construction is seeking a dependable, hardworking Construction Laborer to assist with a commercial renovation project at Fort Novosel. This position is expected to last through the completion of the current project. Employees who demonstrate reliability, strong work ethic, and quality workmanship may be offered continued employment on future projects. This position requires someone who is willing to perform a variety of construction tasks, follow directions, work safely, and contribute to a professional team environment. Responsibilities Duties may include, but are not limited to: General construction labor and jobsite cleanup Loading, unloading, and moving materials Demolition of walls, ceilings, flooring, and fixtures Assisting carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians Installing insulation and framing components Hanging drywall and assisting with drywall finishing Installing ceiling grid and acoustical ceiling tile Painting preparation and cleanup Minor concrete, patching, and repair work Installing trim, wall protection, and miscellaneous finishes Material handling and organization Maintaining a clean and safe work environment Performing other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite every workday Valid government-issued photo ID Ability to pass the background screening required for access to Fort Novosel military installations Must own and maintain a smartphone capable of using the company's electronic timekeeping application for daily clock-in and clock-out Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and perform physically demanding work throughout the day Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Construction experience is preferred but not required for applicants with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn What We're Looking For We value employees who: Show up on time every day Take pride in their work Follow instructions and ask questions when needed Work safely and professionally Treat coworkers, customers, and government personnel with respect Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic Employment Requirements Employment is contingent upon: Successfully passing all background requirements necessary for military installation access Maintaining attendance and punctuality Complying with all company safety policies, including OSHA requirements Following all company conduct, harassment, drug-free workplace, and workplace professionalism policies Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) Using the company's electronic timekeeping system to accurately record work hours Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities when available Opportunity for continued employment after project completion based on performance Work with a growing commercial construction company performing government and commercial projects FJ Palmore Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
