Job Title:
General Laborer / Scaffold Builder Helper Job Description This role supports scaffold building operations by setting up job sites each morning, assisting with the erection and dismantling of scaffolding, and handling general construction labor tasks across the Phoenix area. You work closely with a foreman and scaffold builders to safely build, load, move, and take down scaffold structures while working outdoors and traveling to various project locations. Responsibilities Set up the job site each morning in preparation for daily scaffold building activities. Assist scaffold builders with erecting scaffolding structures according to safety and quality standards. Help dismantle scaffold builds safely and efficiently at the end of projects or as directed. Move materials and equipment around the job site, ensuring they are staged properly for scaffold construction. Use a hammer and other basic hand tools to build and secure scaffold components. Load company trucks with scaffold materials and equipment for transport to and from job sites. Assist the foreman with various on-site duties as assigned, including general labor tasks. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing physically demanding tasks. Climb scaffolding equipment, typically 20-30 feet high, and occasionally up to 50-60 feet, following all safety protocols. Perform heavy lifting, bending, and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Travel across the Phoenix area to different job sites as required by project needs. Participate in required on-site orientations and follow all company safety and operational procedures. Essential Skills Ability to perform general construction labor, including heavy lifting, bending, and carrying up to 50 pounds. Comfort working outdoors for the duration of the shift in various weather conditions. Ability and willingness to climb scaffolding equipment typically 20-30 feet high, with potential projects up to 50-60 feet. Capability to use a hammer and basic hand tools to assist in building scaffolds. Willingness to travel across the Phoenix area to different job sites as needed. Reliability to work a consistent first-shift schedule and follow directions from the foreman and scaffold builders. Strong focus on safety while working at heights and on active construction sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications Any experience with hand tools, power tools, or scaffolding is a plus. Hands-on construction or general labor experience is highly beneficial. Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a crew and take direction from supervisors. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a first-shift position, typically working from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You work primarily outdoors on active construction and industrial sites, exposed to varying weather conditions while building, loading, and dismantling scaffolding. The role involves frequent heavy lifting, bending, carrying up to 50 pounds, and climbing scaffolding structures that are usually 20-30 feet high and can reach 50-60 feet on some projects. You travel across the Phoenix area to different job sites and may begin your first day at a designated rental equipment facility for orientation. The environment is hands-on, safety-focused, and physically demanding, with regular use of basic hand tools and exposure to construction equipment. Appropriate work attire and safety gear, including items suitable for an outdoor, industrial setting, are required in line with company safety policies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
