Santee / San Diego County, CA Position Overview We are a commercial glass and glazing contractor looking for a dependable, hardworking General Laborer to join our team. This is a hands-on position supporting our shop, warehouse, and field installation crews. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, comfortable performing physical work, and willing to learn the commercial glass and glazing trade. Previous construction or glass experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person who shows up on time, works hard, and is interested in learning. Responsibilities Assist glaziers and installers with commercial glass and aluminum installation Load, unload, carry, and safely handle glass, aluminum, doors, frames, and other materials Help prepare materials and equipment for daily jobs Assist with loading and unloading company trucks Maintain organization and cleanliness of the shop, warehouse, trucks, and work areas Use basic hand and power tools under supervision Assist with demolition and removal of existing glass, storefronts, doors, frames, and related materials Help move and position glass using proper handling equipment and techniques Perform jobsite cleanup and dispose of debris and materials Follow instructions from foremen, installers, project managers, and supervisors Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures Wear required PPE and properly use safety equipment Assist with miscellaneous shop, warehouse, and jobsite duties as needed Learn commercial glazing installation methods and industry practices Qualifications Must be dependable and able to report to work on time Ability to perform physical construction work throughout the workday Ability to lift and carry heavy materials safely as part of a team Comfortable working around glass and construction equipment Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Comfortable working from ladders and at elevated work areas when properly trained and protected Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew Basic knowledge of hand and power tools preferred Construction, warehouse, fabrication, or glazing experience is a plus but not required Willingness to learn and develop new skills Must follow company safety policies at all times Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and wants an opportunity to grow in the commercial glass industry. You do not need to already be a glazier, but you must be willing to work hard, learn from experienced installers, and contribute to the crew. Employees who demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, and an ability to learn will have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and develop commercial glazing skills. Work Environment This position may include work in our shop/warehouse as well as commercial construction sites throughout San Diego County. Work may involve lifting, carrying materials, standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, working outdoors, and assisting crews with the installation of commercial glass and aluminum systems.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 per week
