Duties Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar machinery to perform excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks. Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with equipment safety procedures. Assist with construction site preparation by performing utility locating, site clearing, and grading activities. Support construction utility work by installing, repairing, or maintaining underground utilities following safety regulations. Drive commercial trucks for transporting equipment, materials, or personnel between sites while adhering to federal and state driving regulations. Maintain detailed records of equipment operation, maintenance activities, and safety inspections. Follow all safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, or similar machinery in a construction setting. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or ability to obtain one; experience with commercial truck driving is preferred. Mechanical knowledge sufficient for routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with construction utility work including utility locating and excavation techniques. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures. Construction site experience demonstrating understanding of grading, excavation, and general construction processes. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working in outdoor environments.
