Durango, Colorado | Four Corners Region Temporary to Start | Potential Full-Time Opportunity Paid Training Available Join a Growing Engineering and Construction Testing Team We are seeking a dependable, motivated Field Construction Technician to support construction materials testing, inspection, and field observation services on transportation, airport, municipal, utility, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects throughout the Durango and Four Corners region. The position will begin through a staffing agency and may transition into a long-term full-time role based on workload, performance, qualifications, and mutual fit. No prior materials testing experience is required for the right candidate. Paid training is available for individuals with construction, excavation, utility, surveying, laborer, equipment operator, or related outdoor field experience. What You'll Do Perform construction materials testing on soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt. Conduct density and moisture testing during earthwork and utility installation. Observe construction activities and document field conditions. Perform concrete testing and prepare test cylinders. Complete accurate daily reports using a smartphone or tablet. Communicate test results and field observations to project managers. Maintain testing equipment and company vehicles. Travel to active construction sites throughout the Four Corners region. Follow company and project safety requirements at all times. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Basic computer, smartphone, and technology skills. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Construction, excavation, utility, paving, surveying, concrete, inspection, mining, or related experience. Construction materials testing experience. ACI, WAQTC, ICC, NICET, CAPA, or nuclear gauge certifications. Experience on transportation, airport, municipal, utility, industrial, or heavy civil projects. Schedule Work hours vary based on project schedules, weather, and client needs.
