Job Title:
Construction Laborer (General Contracting) Job Description This role supports day-to-day operations on a civil construction site by performing a wide range of general labor duties. You help set up and maintain trailer alleys, support material movement, assist with temporary structures, and keep work areas clean and safe in all weather conditions. Responsibilities Set up trailer alleys, including assembling furniture and ensuring trailers remain clean, organized, and presentable at all times. Assist with moving materials around the site, including tools, boxes, wood boards, and other construction materials as needed. Support the construction of decking around trailer alleys and other temporary structures on site. Assist with the construction of temporary resting areas on the job site. Perform municipalities building cleanup tasks, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping, particularly on snowy or inclement weather days. Use hand tools and basic construction equipment safely and effectively while performing general labor tasks. Support civil construction and general contracting activities, including work related to dirt work, solar projects, and landscaping as directed. Follow site safety guidelines and maintain a clean, orderly work area in both indoor and outdoor environments. Drive company trucks onsite as required, adhering to all driving and safety regulations. Essential Skills Experience performing general labor on construction sites, including civil construction or general contracting environments. Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, including mud, wetness, cold weather, and high heat. Physical ability to bend, twist, stoop, and kneel frequently throughout the workday. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more to at or near head level safely and repeatedly. Ability to carry materials such as tools, boxes, wood boards, and other construction items across the job site. Comfort using hand tools and performing basic construction and landscaping tasks. Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to operate company trucks onsite. Reliability to work a Monday through Saturday schedule, including overtime as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background or familiarity with civil construction, dirt work, or site preparation. Experience working with construction equipment and technologies such as GPS blade systems and CAT machinery. Exposure to solar-related construction projects or outdoor infrastructure work. Landscaping experience, including site cleanup and grounds maintenance. Strong attention to cleanliness and organization in trailers, temporary structures, and municipal buildings. Why Work Here? The schedule typically runs Monday through Saturday, with overtime opportunities available as project demands require. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
