Job Description
Reybold, a growing Construction and Property Management company located in Bear, DE, is seeking Skilled Laborers for our Construction Site Operations. This position involves performing a wide range of tasks such as but not limited to grading, underground utility installation (sewer, storm, and waterline), and asphalt and concrete preparation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in civil construction, understands job site workflow, and can work efficiently alongside operators and foremen to complete projects safely and on schedule. Essential Duties Perform rough and fine grading using hand tools and assist equipment operators with grade control. Assist in installation of underground utilities including sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and waterline systems. Set pipe, check line and grade using lasers and levels, and ensure proper bedding and backfill procedures. Install structures such as manholes, inlets, and water appurtenances. Prepare sub-grade and base for asphalt and concrete placement. Assist with forming, grading, and prep work for sidewalks, curbs, and pads. Compact soil, stone, and asphalt using appropriate compaction equipment. Identify and maintain proper elevations and slopes for drainage. Safely expose and work around existing utilities. Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed. Maintain a clean and organized job site. Additional Responsibilities Snow Removal Education and/or Experience Qualifications 2+ years of experience in civil/site construction preferred. Knowledge of underground utility installation procedures. Ability to read grade stakes, site plans, and interpret elevations. Familiarity with trench safety, shoring, and confined space awareness. Experience working around heavy equipment. Strong understanding of compaction and subgrade preparation. Valid driver's license (CDL a plus but not required). Ability to work extended hours and in varying weather conditions Competencies Strong communication skills Work well with others Can follow directions "Can do" attitude Physical Demands Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly. Ability to work in trenches and uneven terrain. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Work Environment Construction skilled laborers work in nearly every weather condition, although rain or extremely cold weather can stop some types of construction. Workers often get dirty, greasy, muddy, or dusty. Some laborers work in locations on large construction projects, such as highways and dams.
