General Description:
The Laborer is responsible for supporting daily field operations on commercial construction job sites. This role includes a range of general labor tasks such as material handling, site cleanup, equipment operation, and assisting skilled trades. The Laborer may also be trained to safely operate a buck hoist or other site machinery as needed, based on project requirements.
Position Qualifications:
Previous experience in commercial construction is preferred Familiarity with the proper use and care of basic hand and power tools Ability to perform physical labor in a variety of weather conditions Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required Ability to take direction and work independently when required Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform general labor duties, including loading and unloading materials, job site cleanup, and assisting trade partners Use basic hand tools (hammers, saws, levels, drills, etc.) to support general construction activities Safely operate or assist in the operation of machinery such as a buck hoist, forklift or other construction equipment, as directed and trained Follow all safety protocols and report unsafe conditions to onsite superintendent and onsite safety team member immediately Assist in the delivery and organization of materials and supplies around the site Perform other duties as assigned by the onsite Superintendent Job Expectations /
Physical Demands:
Position will work on-site with exposure to various weather conditions and may require regional travel between applicable Juneau Construction Company locations and jobsites. Must be able to stand, sit, feel, twist, walk, talk, hear, see, bend, crouch, squeeze grasp, crawl, kneel, squat, push, pull, apply pressure, reach overhead. Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs. regularly if required. Must be able to safely operate all required machinery. Ability to work outdoors subject to local weather conditions
