$18.00-$20.00 per hour Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week | Monday-Thursday | 4-Day Workweek Star Railroad is hiring a Railroad Track Repair Laborer to assist with the maintenance, repair, and improvement of railroad track at our facility in Green Cove Springs, FL. No railroad experience is required. We are willing to train the right person. This is a physically demanding, hands-on outdoor job. You will be working around railroad tracks, heavy materials, tools, and equipment. We're looking for someone who is dependable, works hard, follows instructions, and wants to learn a skilled trade. What You'll Do Remove and replace railroad ties Remove and drive railroad spikes Install and replace tie plates Assist with rail replacement and track repairs Replace and tighten track bolts and joint bars Assist with gauging, aligning, leveling, and surfacing track Spread and move ballast Assist with railroad switch and turnout repairs Load, unload, and move track materials Operate hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic/hydraulic equipment Assist with track and construction equipment Perform general track and property maintenance Maintain tools and equipment Follow all company safety procedures What We're Looking For Railroad experience is NOT required. We're looking for someone who: Is dependable and shows up to work on time Has reliable transportation Is comfortable working outdoors year-round Can handle physically demanding work for a full 10-hour shift Can safely lift and move heavy materials and equipment Is comfortable working around heavy equipment Can follow instructions and work as part of a crew Takes safety seriously Takes care of company tools and equipment Is willing to learn Experience in railroad work, construction, road work, heavy equipment, welding, mechanical work, utilities, or other skilled trades is a plus. Schedule Monday-Thursday 4 days per week 10-hour shifts 40 hours per week No scheduled overtime Enjoy a consistent 3-day weekend every week. Pay $18.00-$20.00 per hour Starting pay will be based on experience and qualifications. Work Environment This is an outdoor, physical labor position. Applicants should be prepared to work in Florida heat, cold, rain, dirt, and other outdoor conditions. This position involves standing, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, lifting, carrying materials, using tools, and performing repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
