POSITION SUMMARY
To assist with home repairs and modification under the Supervision of Director of Construction &/or Crew Chief.
HOURS :
Fixed hours 7am-3:30pm Monday thru Friday. Very generous paid time off and paid holidays.
MAJOR DUTIES
To perform quality basic carpentry, drywall, door/window replacement, cabinet replacement, ceramic tile work, minor plumbing repairs, and painting in a timely manner under supervision or independently. To construct environmental modifications such as wheelchair ramps, door widening and grab bars. To provide job site supervision, training and coaching to crew members assigned to job to assure duties are completed to program standards. Communicate any changes, unforeseen repairs and daily completed work to the Director of Construction. To perform preparation duties necessary to make repairs, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement. To accurately complete all work in a neat and professional manner. To perform all administrative aspects of job assignments, including paperwork, planning, purchasing materials, scheduling, and developing supervisor skills. To accurately complete paperwork, verify and submit all documentation and receipts in a timely manner. To be responsible for before and after pictures of all home repairs and modifications. To properly use all construction materials and safe handling of all power and hand tools. To use all tools in a safe and professional manner and to properly maintain them. To be responsible for safety on the job and ensuring job sites are kept clean. Overseeing equipment, vehicles and personnel to ensure the crew is safely driving company vehicles, using tools properly and maintaining inventory. To report any incidents immediately to the Director of Construction. To work with the elderly in a kind and understanding way. To attend and participate in all training as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERINCE
High School Diploma Two-Three years light construction Handyman qualities
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Have basic knowledge and ability of various aspects of general home repairs. Must be a self-starter, team oriented and can learn new tasks. Demonstrate a positive attitude, adaptability, and dependability. Must have ability to work with a diverse group of staff, consumers, and their family members. Must pass Level II background screen and drug screen prior to employment. Must pass a Florida Department of Motor Vehicles Department driving record check in order to drive company or personal vehicles to conduct company business. Must possess a valid Florida driver's license and current automobile insurance (if personal automobile owned.) Must be able to lift heavy objects, push, pull, bend, stoop, climb ladders, talk, hear, and see. Able to work with exposure to outside elements, chemicals and a home environment that may have multiple pets.
