JOB DESCRIPTION
An Underground Construction Crewman is responsible for supporting the underground construction efforts of our New York operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:RESPONSIBILITIES
Retrieve tools and parts as needed for the specific task at hand. Keep the truck stocked and organized of required parts. Clean truck out on a weekly basis. Follow directives from supervisor relative to the job task at hand.- Install underground pipe/conduit to customer specifications
- Operate underground equipment as required
- Push/Pull Fiber Optic Cable through Conduit
- Install Vaults and Pedestals
- Restoration of work sites
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- the ability to work safely, with or without supervision;
- the ability to work standing, at shoulder height and overhead, for extended periods;
- the ability to lift and manipulate lasher and other cable placement equipment;
- the ability to work aloft, either from a ladder, aerial lift device, or by gaffing;
- excellent manual dexterity;
- the ability to follow instructions and communicate verbally and in writing;
OTHER DUTIES
- Completion of low level and high level labor intensive tasks as well as operation of assigned construction equipment.
- Completion of daily production reports to document work performed.
- Use of hand tools, ladders, and equipment to assist in the completion of an assigned project.
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Additional Underground Construction Crewman Duties as assigned by management.
