Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Scrap Yard De-Pollution Laborer to join our environmental remediation team. This vital role involves the safe and efficient removal of pollutants from scrap materials, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and promoting sustainable practices. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to environmental preservation while gaining valuable experience in restoration and de-pollution processes. Duties Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to de-pollute scrap materials. Removal of fluids and tires before vehicles are crushed. Assist with cleaning and preparing materials for recycling or disposal, including carpet cleaning and water damage restoration tasks. Support fire restoration efforts by managing debris and ensuring site safety. Follow established protocols for asbestos abatement and mold remediation to ensure worker safety and regulatory compliance. Maintain cleanliness of work areas through routine cleaning activities. Assist with the use of construction tools during site preparation or repair activities. Support the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with environmental regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. Experience Prior experience in the restoration industry, including water damage restoration, fire restoration, or mold remediation, is preferred. Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Knowledge of environmental safety procedures related to asbestos abatement and hazardous material handling. Experience working in a scrap yard or industrial environment is advantageous. Strong understanding of cleaning techniques applicable to various restoration scenarios. Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols diligently. Previous exposure to the restoration industry or related fields will be considered a plus. This position is essential for maintaining environmentally responsible operations within our scrap yard facilities.
